After an year of beta testing and 7 months after announced its bare metal hypervisor project Parallels has launched its first bare metal hypervisor for servers. With the new Parallels Server 4 Bare Metal, the company has joined to the club of high profile virtualization producers such as VMware, Citrix Systems, Microsoft, and Oracle in delivering a so-called type 1 or bare metal hypervisor for x64 servers.
